1985 Autocomm Inc. is established to provide New Car inspection and damage prevention to the logistic chain from Plant to Dealer. Customers include OEM’s, Railroads, Trucking Companies and Insurance Providers. 2005: AiM began its operations with the acquisition of AutoComm, Inc., a national provider of new vehicle inspection services. Building on AutoComm’s national presence, AiM quickly expanded its business to include pre‐owned vehicles. 2006: AiM starts providing off‐lease vehicle inspection services for Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. Inspections are conducted at lessee’s home, business or dealership. AiM also inspects vehicles grounded at NMAC dealerships that have not had a previous inspection. AiM develops the first generation of industry leading scheduling and routing software that revolutionizes the way inspectors are scheduled and routed to ensure both customer service and efficiency. 2007: AiM accepted an investment from Tokio Marine and Fire Insurance Company to acquire 14.9% of the company. AiM is awarded contract and begins vehicle inspections for the Avis Budget Group (ABG), providing fleet vehicle inspections at any ABG location nationwide, including 45 locations in major metro areas. Later in 2007, AiM begins inspections for Chrysler Corporate Vehicle Inspections, providing corporate vehicle inspections upon driver return to a Chrysler dealership. AiM begins inspection services for National Rent-A-Car, performing vehicle inspections on the company’s rental risk vehicle portfolio. AiM receives an award from Mobilizer Magazine for the successful implementation of its automated scheduling and routing software. The system efficiently creates customer appointments, automates the dealer assignment process, maximizes inspector productivity, monitors real time inspection activity and meets customer service expectations. 2008: AiM is awarded contracts and begins vehicle inspection services for General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) and Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC). AiM is awarded the Nissan Motors Acceptance Contract for floor plan auditing. Contract covers the United States and includes both Nissan and Infiniti product lines. AiM performed approximately 10,000,000 inspections on new vehicles throughout North America for over 100 customers, including manufacturers and multiple logistics providers. AiM surpasses 50% market share in the new car inspection business for the first time. AiM’s operations expand to 25 auction locations, completing more than 250,000 auction inspections during 2008. AiM surpasses 600 employees (full- and part-time). 2009: Ford Motor Credit awards AiM both the Off-lease and Floor Plan Audit contract in the United States. Contract includes all Ford family product lines including Ford, Lincoln and Mercury. AiM begins handling all inspection needs for the De Lage Landen Financial Services heavy equipment portfolio. AiM begins performing inspections for Recovery Management Inc. in February, 2009. AiM inspects credit (repossessed) vehicles for third party finance companies. 2010: AiM and Experian Automotive team up to pair vehicle inspections with AutoCheck® vehicle history reports for consumer clients. AiM launches AiM Mobile Inspections, the industry’s first inspection-only provider for consumers, providing 150-point vehicle inspections for buyers and sellers of pre-owned vehicles. AiM launches AiM Dealer Inspections, the first web portal offered to dealerships for both asset verification inspections and wholesale condition. This is a self-serve portal allowing dealerships to order, pay and receive inspection reports online. AiM launches the second generation of their scheduling and routing software to take advantage of online self scheduling, real-time updates to the end user and more robust biometrics to enhance both efficiency and customer service. 2011: AiM and Titan International begin offering oil and transmission fluid analysis for consumer inspections, providing technical information to help consumers understand a vehicle’s history and past performance. Aim passes 2500 registered users.
AiM begins assigning all vehicles inspected with an A-F letter grade to help buyers make a better informed purchasing decision.
